Installing

BladeLogic Portal is a web-based application. End users do not have to install any software; they can access the portal through supported browsers.

For administrators, use the following steps to set up a BladeLogic Portal environment.

Platform	Steps
Microsoft Windows	Download the installation files. Review the minimum hardware and software requirements. Set up a SQL Server database. Enable web services in BMC Server Automation Install the portal on Windows. Optionally, provision the BladeLogic Portal server with a trusted certificate.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux	Download the installation files. Review the minimum hardware and software requirements. Set up an Oracle database. Enable web services in BMC Server Automation Install the portal on Linux Optionally, provision the BladeLogic Portal server with a trusted certificate.
