Importing Cisco Data Center Service Node device adapters

This topic provides step-by-step instructions for importing Cisco Data Center Service Node device adapters.

Note
You should have a user name and password with administrator privileges on the TrueSight Network Automation application server to import a new adapter.

To import device adapters

  1. Log on to the application server.
  2. Open the Device Adapters page by navigating to Admin > Network Admin > Device Adapters.
  3. Click Import.
  4. In the Import pop-up, click Browse, and select the <BCAN_DATA>\bcan-dsn-utility\data\DeviceTypeMap-DSNSetup.xml file.
  5. (Optional) Clear the Enable New Device Adapters option.
  6. Click Import.
     The file is imported and is scanned for errors.

  7. Repeat steps 4 through 7 to import device adapters from the <BCAN_DATA>\bcan-dsn-utility\data\DeviceTypeMap-showmodule.xml file.
    Note:
    If the import is successful, a user event is logged with the name of the adapter that is imported. If the adapter is enabled, it becomes available to the users after import.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
