Warning
Helix documentation is moving from docs.bmc.com to docs.helixops.ai

Key pages will redirect to the new domain on May 26, 2026. However, some legacy documentation links will not be redirected.

In-product help links might not work after migration as we transition and update them within the product.

For any queries, reach out to IX-Support@helixops.ai.

Securing devices

The following security is applied when managing devices:

  • For Snapshot span actions, TrueSight Network Automation always uses the device's assigned device security profile (DSP).
  • For Telnet/SSH client sessions, the user supplies login credentials as prompted by the device.
  • For all other span actions (for example, Deploy to Active, Deploy OS Image), a system parameter under Admin > System Parameters defines which login credentials to use. To force the user to supply TACACS+/RADIUS credentials, select the Enter at Job Creation option.

The following figure shows Device Security Profile being selected for security:

Editing user authentication parameters

To configure user authentication system parameters, go to Admin > System Admin > System Parameters. For details, see Security section (local mode user authentication) and Security section (external mode user authentication).

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
