Cancelling an installation or upgrade that is in progress

If you cancel an installation or upgrade that has already started, the target installation can be impacted. Always try to allow the installation or upgrade to complete on the target machine before clicking Cancel.

If you click Cancel before an installation or upgrade completes, complete the following steps to recover.

4.6.05 and later:

  1. Revert the target VM to the snapshot taken after fixing any prerequisites and data inconsistencies mentioned in the Pre-Analyzer report. For a detailed PreAnalyzer Execution Report, see PreAnalyzer checks.
  2. If applicable, after fixing the pre-requisites and data inconsistencies, restore the database of that component product to the backup taken.
  3. Rerun the installation or upgrade.

4.6.04 and earlier:

  1. Revert the target VM to the snapshot that you took before the installation or before the upgrade state.
  2. Restore the database to its original state when you began the initial installation or upgrade.
  3. Clean up the Install Planner.
  4. Integrate the product that was already installed or upgraded.
  5. Rerun the installation or upgrade.
