PaaS provisioning

BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management lets you provision a software stack on a computing platform. This functionality is called platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provisioning. BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management can provision the following types of public cloud PaaS platforms:

  • Databases (for example, Amazon or Microsoft Azure SQL Server)
  • Application Containers (for example, Cloud Foundry or Heroku)
  • Custom Containers

Using BMC Database Automation, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management can provision the following types of databases as platforms (although there are some limitations on the operating systems available for each supported version):

  • Oracle RAC
  • Oracle Restart
  • Oracle Standalone

Note

For assistance on adding a new custom PaaS provider of type database, application container, or custom container, contact BMC Professional Services.

The following topics describe the process to set up and use PaaS provisioning:

The following video (6:09) gives an overview of PaaS provisioning in BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management.
