Verifying Cloud Database Extensions installation


You can verify that the Cloud Database Extensions were installed successfully by using the following procedures.

To review installation log files

  1. If you just completed the installation and the installer prompts you to view the installation log, perform the following steps:
    1. Click View Log.
    2. Check the log file for SEVERE errors and import failures.
    3. Skip to step 4.
  2. Log on to the server that hosts BMC Remedy AR System – Cloud Database.
  3. Navigate to each directory listed in the following table and check the specified log files for the errors described in the Action column.
     Within the path names specified in the table:
    • On Microsoft Windows, <installPath> is C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMCCloudLifeCycleManagement.
    • On Linux, <installPath> is /opt/bmc/BMCCloudLifeCycleManagement.
      The [confluence_table-plus] macro is a standalone macro and it cannot be used inline. Click on this message for details.

      If no error messages were reported, the installation was successful and you can skip the procedure in this topic.

  4. For all error, (including SEVERE) messages, verify the entries in the SHARE:Application_Properties form.
  5. If a SEVERE error message was reported, additionally perform the steps documented in the Resolving-a-Severe-error-message-in-the-installation-log topic.

To verify entries in the SHARE:Application_Properties form

  1. In a web browser, enter the following URL:
    http://<hostName>:8080/arsys/forms/<serverName>/SHARE:Application_Properties
     whwew:
    • <hostName> represents the fully qualified name of the server that hosts BMC Remedy AR System – Cloud Database.
    • <serverName> represents the name of the server that hosts BMC Remedy AR System – Cloud Database.
  2. Log on with the default user name, Demo, which does not require a password.
  3. Click New Search.
  4. Fill in the following fields:
    • Property Name: Enter Name.
    • Property Value: Enter BMC.
  5. Click Search.
     A list of properties that match the search criteria is displayed.
  6. Verify that the following entries appear in the search results:

    Name

    Identifier

  7. If the form does not contain the required entries, contact BMC Customer Support.

To verify entries in the CMDB Console

  1. Using the mid tier, log on to any of the AR System server in the server group.
  2. From the Object List search and open the CMDB Console.
  3. Go to Reconciliation Manager > View Jobs and ensure that the BMC CSM ENT Data Reconciliation job is listed.
  4. Verify that the ContinuousJobInterval field is set to 120.
  5. Click on the History tab and verify that all jobs completed successfully.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
