Configuring the hosts file

The /etc/hosts file must contain a fully qualified name for the server in the format <IP-address> <fully-qualified-machine-name> <machine-name> , for example:

127.0.0.1       localhost.localdomain  localhost
192.168.1.195   serverdb.localdomain   serverdb

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
