BMC Client Management web console overview
When you launch the BMC Client Management web console, the welcome page is displayed as follows.
The following table describes the UI elements on the welcome page.
Feature | Description |

Search | The web console enables you to search for a specific device from the network. For more information, refer to Object search. |
Frequently Selected Devices | This pane shows you a list of frequently selected devices. |
Remote Control | This option enables you to take remote control of a remote device. For more information, refer to Remotely-controlling-a-device. |
Preferences | This option enables you to set the web console preferences. For more information, refer to Setting-preferences-and-launching-the-WebStart-package. |
When you select a device from the list of devices available after the search, the device information displays as shown in the following image.
This page enables you to perform the following functionalities:
- Viewing overview and detailed properties: A device can have different roles and functions in the network and thus a lot of different information is available for it. This information displays in the Overview and Detailed Properties tab. For details, refer to Viewing member information from device topology.
- Viewing inventory details: The web console enables you to collect any type of inventory data for the selected device. For details, refer to Device inventory management.
