Integrating with BMC Helix Intelligent Automation for remediation

Organizations can use the BMC Helix Automation Console features to perform the following functions:

• Remediate vulnerabilities from BMC Helix Automation Console by using automation platforms other than TrueSight Server Automation, such as Ansible.
• Sync BMC HelixGPT-generated remediation scripts to BMC Helix Intelligent Automation.

As a tenant administrator, you can enable one or more of the available options based on the subscription to use these features. 

Before you begin

Make sure that you provide the required minimum permissions to the users in BMC Helix Portal before you enable integration with Intelligent Automation. For more information, see Roles and permissions for the BMC Helix Portal.

To enable integration with BMC Helix Intelligent Automation for vulnerability remediation

Use BMC Helix Intelligent Automation, an automation aggregator, to connect with automation tools of your choice and trigger remediation actions. When an administrator integrates with BMC Helix Intelligent Automation, you can remediate vulnerabilities from BMC Helix Automation Console by using automation platforms other than TrueSight Server Automation, such as Ansible. This integration can resolve issues where TrueSight Server Automation is restricted on cloud devices due to corporate policy.

Perform the following steps to enable integration with BMC Helix Intelligent Automation for vulnerability remediation:

1. Log in to BMC Helix Automation Console as an administrative user.
2. Click Configuration and then click Product Features.
3. On the Manage Product Features page, click the toggle key to enable integration with BMC Helix Intelligent Automation.
   
4. Refresh the window. 

To enable syncing of remediation scripts to BMC Helix Intelligent Automation

1. Log in to BMC Helix Automation Console as an administrative user.
2. Click Configuration and then click Product Features.
3. On the Manage Product Features page, click the Sync Remediation Scripts to Intelligent Automation toggle key to enable the feature.
   
4. Refresh the window

After successfully integrating with BMC Helix Intelligent Automation, you can remediate vulnerabilities by using the Ansible Automation Platform, in addition to other remediation platforms such as TrueSight Server Automation and TrueSight Network Automation. After enabling the Sync Remediation Scripts to Intelligent Automation feature, as a vulnerability manager in BMC Helix AIOps, you can sync BMC HelixGPT- generated Ansible remediation scripts directly to BMC Helix Intelligent Automation from the Code Wizard, without leaving the BMC Helix AIOps console. The synced script is automatically mapped to all assets impacted by the vulnerability and will be available as an option when you create a vulnerability remediation operation.
