Configuring TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse by using the console
Configure databases, repositories, and the primary site by using the console.
Before you begin
Before you start configuring the product, ensure that the following requirements are met:
If you are deploying with the SQL Server database, ensure that the data warehouse database user have sysadmin privileges to create a database link between TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse and TrueSight Server Automation. For information about how to verify user privileges, see Database links in the Microsoft documentation.
To access the console, JavaScript must be enabled for your web browser.
To configure the product by using the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console
Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse login page:

The default port number is 9443.- In the User Name and Password fields, enter the DWAdmin credentials. DWAdmin is the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator. By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click
.
- Click LOG IN.
- On the Database Type tab, view the database type that you are using and click Next.
On the Database Prerequisites tab, select one of the following options:
(For a new empty data warehouse)
- If you have created new databases and users, select the New databases/users option and click Next.
If you have not created new databases and users, click the Download the scripts link to download the database and user creation scripts.
Ensure that you set up the database and restart the configuration process. For instructions, see Setting up the databases.
(For existing BMC Decision Support for Server Automation warehouse)
- Select the Existing databases/users used for BDSSA option and click Next.
On the ETL Master Repository tab, provide the following information and click Next.

Host Name
Host name or IP address of the database server that hosts the ETL master repository schema
Ensure that:
- You do not use the localhost value in this field.
- If you are using an SQL Server and databases are created on a named instance, provide the host name in the Host Name field and a valid port number of the named instance in the Port field.
Port
Port number for the database server that hosts the ETL master repository schema
SID (Oracle) or Database Name (SQL Server)
Service ID or Service name for the ETL master repository
User Name
User name for the ETL work repository
Password and Confirm Password
Password for the ETL master repository user
Note: Do not use the following special characters:
- Ampersand (&)
- Double quotes (" ")
- Pipe (|)
- Less than sign (<)
- Greater than sign (>)
- Single quotes (' ')
- Forward slash (/)
- Semicolon (;)
If you use special characters, the configuration fails and you have to reconfigure the database schema.
On the ETL Work Repository tab, provide the following information and click Next.

On the Warehouse Database tab, provide the following information and click Next.

Values can be CHAR or NCHAR based on your TrueSight Server Automation schema.
Note: This field does not appear if you are using the existing BMC Decision Support for Server Automation database.Host Name

User name for the TrueSight Server Automation database user
Password and Confirm Password
Password for the TrueSight Server Automation database user
Site Name
The name with which a TrueSight Server Automation database is referred in TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse
ETL Cutoff Period
Number of past months for which you want the data to be transferred from the TrueSight Server Automation database to the data warehouse
Minimum value: 3
Maximum value: 36This field enables you to control the amount of data that is transferred to the reports data warehouse for the first time.
- Click Finish to display the Last Task Details page. This displays the status and details of the last configuration or reconfiguration task that was run through the console.
- Click Configuration to activate the ETL Management menu.
