Configuring SDIG on a Windows cluster for failover
This topic describes how to configure the Service Desk Integration Gateway (SDIG) on a Windows cluster for failover.
To configure the SDIG cluster resource
Windows 2012:
- Disable the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management IBRSD Windows service for both nodes.
- Navigate to the <installation directory>\TrueSight\pw\scripts folder.
- Save a copy of the file GenericService.ps1 as GenericService_SDIG.ps1.
- Edit the GenericService_SDIG.ps1 file to make the following changes:
- Delete the line
(Get-ClusterResource "PnService").Description = $PnServerPath
. - Replace all occurrences of PnService with SDIGService.
- Replace all occurrences of ProNetServer with SDIG.
- Save changes to the file.
- Delete the line
- Run GenericService_SDIG.ps1 using Windows PowerShell to create the SDIG cluster resource.
- Configure dependencies for the SDIG cluster resource.
Windows 2008:
- Disable the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management IBRSD Windows service for both nodes.
- Navigate to the <installation directory>\TrueSight\pw\scripts folder.
- Save a copy of the file GenericService.bat as GenericService_SDIG.bat.
- Edit the GenericService_SDIG.bat file to make the following changes:
- Delete the line
call cluster "%ClusterName%" res "PnService" /PROP Description=%PnServerPath%
. - Replace all occurrences of PnService with SDIGService.
- Replace all occurrences of ProNetServer with SDIG.
- Save changes to the file.
- Delete the line
- Run GenericService_SDIG.bat from the command prompt to create the SDIG cluster resource.
- Configure dependencies for the SDIG cluster resource.
To configure dependencies for the SDIG cluster resource
- Stop the BMC Infrastructure Management Server using the
pw system stop
command. - Go to Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Failover Cluster Manager and click on the cluster name.
- Scroll down to the Cluster Core Resources section, right-click SDIGService, and click Properties.
- In the SDIG Properties dialog box, click the Dependencies tab.
- Click Insert to add a resource.
- From the Resource list, select a cluster name and click Insert.
- Select the cluster resource with the ‘AND’ option. Similarly, add all the resources (Name, IP address, and Disk).
- Click Apply and then OK.
- Restart the BMC Infrastructure Management Server using the
pw system start
command.
