Running hierarchy rules manually

You must run hierarchy rules manually if either of the following conditions exists:

  • You loaded historical data into TrueSight Capacity Optimization (for which hierarchy rules are not executed by default).
  • You want to create object relations and aggregation before they are created automatically.

To run hierarchy rules manually, perform the following actions:

  1. From the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, navigate to Administration > Data Warehouse > Hierarchy rules.
  2. In the table row for your ETL task, click on the name of your task.
  3. On the Object Relationships page, click Run to execute the Object Relationships Hierarchy rule.
  4. To run the aggregation hierarchy rule manually, perform the following actions:
    1. In the Type exclusion field, clear the Aggregate check box.
    2. In the Name column, click the plus sign (+).
    3. In the box adjacent to the like field, type BYMVS and press Enter.
    4. In the Page Size field at the bottom, enter 50.
  5. Select a BYMVS hierarchy rule.
  6. Click the Run hierarchy button.
    The Run Mode dialog is displayed.
  7. Select Historical recovery from and use the calendar control to specify the start and end dates of the period for which you want to run aggregation hierarchy.
  8. Click OK.

    Note

    These steps must be repeated for each BYMVS aggregation hierarchy.
