Managing listeners
A listener object detects connections from incoming channels and manages connections for sending messages to receiving channels. A single listener can obtain messages from either a queue or a topic, depending on the destination.
When you select Listeners from the Navigation Panel, the Summary View appears:
Summary view operations available from the Operations drop-down menu are: Copy As New Listener, Start, Stop, Delete, Permissions, Audit, Tag Listener.
Note
Start/Stop Operations let the user start and stop the Listener. This has no actual effect on the messages which the listener monitors and passes on. It literally activates or deactivates the listener itself.
To access the selected Listener's Properties Editor, click on the Listener Name.
