TrueSight Middleware Administrator vs TrueSight Middleware Administrator (Monitor Edition)

This section describes the major differences between the TrueSight Middleware Administrator and TrueSight Middleware Administrator (Monitor Edition).

The TrueSight Middleware Administrator (Monitor Edition) version is a licensed, limited version of TrueSight Middleware Administrator and is specific for use with TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor (it replaces the legacy Configuration Manager tool).

Features and components of TrueSight Middleware Administrator not supported (or partly supported) by the TrueSight Middleware Administrator (Monitor Edition) are listed in the table below. 

Note

When standard TrueSight Middleware Administrator functionality is not available for TrueSight Middleware Administrator (Monitor Edition) users, a message is displayed for the selected feature in the User/Admin Console.

The following project functionality is permitted/accessible:

  • Viewing the projects list
  • Viewing the project properties
  • Access to audit logs relating to the TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor project
  • Users can be associated/disassociated
  • User permissions
  • Groups can be associated/disassociated
  • Group permissions

The following project settings in TrueSight Middleware Administrator (Monitor Edition) cannot be modified:

  • Creating, copying, deleting a project
  • (Disabling) Remote File Access
  • WMQ connections cannot be added or removed
  • Links cannot be created, removed or altered
  • WMQ Event Rules cannot be created and cannot be associated
  • Associating Filters cannot be added to connections
