Skeleton tailoring
Each skeleton JCL member is used for a specified automaton process. The control statements direct the tailoring facility as to which actions to take. Fields that are supplied by MainView SRM replace your chosen variables. These fields are supplied though the tagging of data in views or from the MainView SRM automated functions.
During automation processing, the ACT_JOB parameter defines the skeleton JCL member that is used for a specified automation process. When the member is located, the appropriate fields from the set result group that is returned from the automation process replace the variables that are defined in the member. The batch job that is created from this processing is either saved or submitted, depending on the parameters that are defined in the related automation rule list statements.
You can also use the tagging facility to build JCL for batch processing. If you issue a primary view command interactively through the tagging facility, fields are extracted from tagged rows. These fields replace variables that are defined in a skeleton JCL member. You can submit, edit, or save the batch job that is created from this process.
By using line commands that are available in the AUTOJCL view, you can validate the skeleton JCL and its variables before using them in either MainView SRM Automation or as part of the tagging facility in MainView SRM Reporting. The AUTOJCL view simulates the construction of the batch job and displays the simulated results. For more information, see Accessing automation views.
