Phased rollout

This documentation supports the 21.05 version of BMC Service Request Management. To view an earlier version, select the version from the Product version menu.

Configuring popular services

You can show a list of the most popular services in the Popular Requests pod of the Request Entry console. The popular services are:

  • Services that are most frequently requested during the specified interval
  • Services that are defined as System Requests in the service request definition (SRD)

To show a list of the popular services, you must configure the popular services interval and the system request settings.

To configure the Popular Services Interval

  1. In the Application Administration console, click the Custom Configuration tab.
  2. From the Application Settings list, select Service Request Management > Advanced > Service Request Definition Settings, and click Open.
  3. From the Popular Services Interval list, select Day, Week (default), or Month.
This interval is the time period within which popularity is determined. For example, if you select Day, the system selects the most frequently requested services for each day. You can view the number of times a particular service has been requested during the Popular Services Interval. For more information, see the Recent Request Count metric in Reviewing and maintaining SRDs
  4. Save your changes.

To configure a System Request

  1. From the Service Catalog Manager Console, search for an SRD, select it, and click View.
  2. Make sure that the SRD is offline.
  3. On the Definition tab, set the System Request option as Yes.
  4. Save your changes.
