When using Internet Explorer versions later than 7.0, the following error might be displayed:Internet Explorer 6 and 7 are not supported.

Press F12 to view the Internet Explorer Developer Tools and change the Browser Mode settings to not use the Compatibility View. When the compatibility mode is on, the browser defaults to Internet Explorer 7 standards. If the check for Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 7 is removed, storyboards does not work because Internet Explorer 8 renders the page like Internet Explorer 7.

To create a storyboard

Perform the steps listed in the following table to create a storyboard:

1	Create the storyboard	On the BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting Admin Console, select Create > Storyboard. On the Storyboard Setup screen, enter values in the Title, Subtitle, and Description fields. The title and description you provide appears in the content list on the Browse page. Apply or change the theme. A theme is default styling of the storyboard. Click Save.	Storyboard Themes
2	Add slides by selecting from templates	From the left menu bar, select Slide . Click Add at the end of the slide list. From the Select Template menu, select a template . Provide a title and a subtitle for the slide. Click Add.	Slide Types Add a Slide
3	Add content to the slide	Depending on the slide type, add the required content. If required, add an associated content slide.	Slide Content Add Associated Content
4	(Optional) Apply slide settings	From the top menu bar, select Slide > Settings. For the current slide, change the settings as needed. Click Submit. For more information about slide settings and the method to apply settings, see Applying slide settings in the storyboard.
5	(Optional) Apply storyboard settings	To define style, data, and access settings for the storyboard, apply storyboard settings. For information about available storyboard settings, and method to apply settings, see Applying storyboard settings.
6	Apply filters to reports in the storyboard	Add the following filters to restrict the data displayed in the storyboard: Report filters—for specific reports on slides Global filters—for all reports in the storyboard For more information, see Applying filters to reports in a storyboard.
7	(Optional) Use social collaboration options	To add comments and notes to slides, use the social collaboration options.
8	Save the storyboard	From the top menu bar, select Storyboard > Save. In the Save storyboard pop up window, provide or update the required details. By default, the category is BMC Remedy Operational Reporting, and the subcategory is Draft. For information, see Setting up content folders. Click Draft. The storyboard remains in Draft Storyboard status until you activate it.
9	Activate the storyboard	Browse and open a storyboard that you want to activate. Select Storyboard > Save. In the Save Storyboard popup window, update the Title, Description, and Category as required. The default category is BMC Remedy Operational Reporting. Select a Subcategory (other than Draft Contents) where you want to save the storyboard (for example, Incident Management or Change Management). The Activate button appears only after you select a category other than Draft Contents. (Optional) Add tags. Click Activate. The active storyboard opens in present mode. You can locate the storyboard from the Browse section of BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting, under the subcategory you had selected. After you activate a storyboard, the status changes from Draft Storyboard to Public or Private, based on the settings you applied.

After you create and activate a storyboard, you can share the storyboard and edit it to make further changes. Users with access to the storyboard can view the storyboard and perform actions such as sharing, exporting, and adding comments and notes.
