Using a storyboard
Using the social collaboration options
You can use various social collaboration options available while editing or viewing a storyboard. From the right menu bar, the following social collaboration options are available:
- Comment and Comment Threads—Add comments to a slide, view previous comments, respond to comments, and so on. The Storyboard comment options work similarly to the comments on Reports. For more information, see Adding-and-responding-to-comments-in-a-report-or-storyboard.
- Comments Subscribe—Subscribe to a comment feed. When you subscribe to comments, you get a email notification when other users add comments to slides. The email is sent to the Smart Reporting inbox.
- Slide Note—Add private notes on selected slides during a presentation. When you add a note, a flag is displayed on the slide. Click the flag to view the note or delete it.
Sharing a storyboard with other users
When you view a storyboard, you can distribute or email a storyboard to other users who have access to the storyboard.
To distribute a storyboard
- On the bottom menu bar, select Share > Distribute.
- Add the recipients and a message.
You can add the storyboard URL in the message, which provides the users a direct access the storyboard. - Click OK.
The recipients receive a notification in their Smart Reporting inbox, from which they can access the storyboard. The storyboard also appears on the timelines of recipients.
To email a storyboard
- On the bottom menu bar, select Share > Email.
- Add recipients and select a format.
- (Optional) Change the storyboard name and enter a message.
- Click OK.
To export a storyboard
- Create or view a storyboard.
- From the bottom menu bar, click Export.
To make a storyboard favorite
- To mark a storyboard as favorite, on the bottom menu bar, click the star next to the storyboard name.
The storyboard is added to your Favorites list on the BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting home page. - To remove a storyboard from the Favorites list, click the star again.
To view version history
- View a storyboard.
- From the left menu bar, select Version History.
- Select the version you want to view.
To delete a storyboard
- While editing a storyboard, from the top menu bar, select Storyboard > Delete.
- While viewing a storyboard, from the bottom menu bar, select Edit > Delete.
Once deleted, a storyboard is not accessible to other users with whom it was shared.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
