Modifying consent for data collection

Smart IT collects telemetry data such as automatic events, clicks or page navigation, and custom events such as opening a dropdown menu or using a specific product feature. The data collection provides insights into product usage, users’ activities within the application, product performance, web statistics, and optimizing the product capabilities.

As a Smart IT user, when you log in to Smart IT for the first time, the following notification is displayed, and data collection is enabled by default. You can modify your consent for data collection any time.

You can clear the Enable data collection for performance and product improvement check box to opt out of the data collection process.

Data collected for improving product performance

When you enable data collection, Smart IT collects data about your usage of the product for identifying defects, improving performance, and developing new features. Some examples of data collected are as follows:

  • Time taken to complete tasks
  • User inactivity time on the product
  • Events such as button clicks, blank clicks, opening of tab panels, and loading of view fields

  • Count of errors and type of errors
  • Response to ratings and surveys provided by BMC products
  • Count of user sign-ins and sign-outs
  • Movement from one BMC product to another
  • Information that allows BMC to identify a product or an instance of a product
  • Diagnostic information needed for technical troubleshooting
  • General information about your computer or web browser that could be used to identify technical problems

Can you add information about the "Learn More about what we collect" as we have not upgraded, we cannot follow the link.

Also, is there a way to opt out for all users or to disable this?
