Fulfilling a service request by assigning a CI or asset

To fulfill a service request by assigning a configuration item (CI) or asset, use the Fulfill Request (CMDB) option available in the Actions menu. For example, to fulfill the New Hire request by an HR executive, you must link the laptop that you have prepared for the new joinee.

This option is enabled only when the service request is approved and a criteria is configured by system administrators for the request definition. When you access this option, only few CIs and assets are shown to you based on the filter criteria specified by your system administrator. You can select one or more CIs or assets to fulfill a request.

  1. From the Service Requests module in the Remedyforce Console tab, select an approved service request.
  2. From the Actions menu, select Fulfill Request (CMDB).
  3. Select one or more CIs or assets that are required to fulfill the service request, and click Fulfill Request (CMDB).
  4. In the Multiple Instance Editor window, update the selected CIs or assets.
To know what field you must change to ensure that the selected CIs and assets do not appear again in the Fulfill Request (CMDB) window, contact your system administrator.
  5. Click save_icon.gif.
The selected CIs or assets are linked to the service request and are shown in the Linked Configuration Items and Assets related list.

If you do not find the CI or asset, contact your system administrator to modify the filter criteria or add the CI or asset.
