Troubleshooting issues related to Single Sign-On configuration using ADFS 3.0

The following error is displayed.

There was a problem accessing the site. Try to browse to the site again.

If the problem persists, contact the administrator of this site and provide the reference number to identify the problem.

Validate the certificates attached in the ADFS server and on the Salesforce organization.

The following error is displayed.

We can't log you in. Check for an invalid assertion in the SAML Assertion Validator (available in Single Sign-On Settings) or check the login history for failed logins.


Perform the following steps:

  1. Add the SAML chrome Panel add-on to the Chrome browser.
  2. On the above page tab, click F12.
  3. Select the SAML tab.
  4. Copy SAML Response.
  5. Open URL Decoder in new tab. Paste SAML response in the URL Decoder and click Decode.
  6. Copy the decoded code.

  7. Open SAML Validator at the Salesforce end by navigating to Setup > Administer > Security Controls > Single Sign-On Settings > SAML Assertion Validator.

  8. Paste the decoded code in the validator text box.
