Creating application properties for a specific company
As an administrator, you can change the following properties of Live Chat to be displayed to the end users or support agents:
- Company name—When an end user logs in to the Self Service Portal, the user profile is read from the CTM:People form. The user profile includes the company name, which is used when requesting application properties. If no specific company application properties are found, the default values are used.
- Notification source displayed to the support agents—Agents receive browser notifications of incoming chats or messages. By default, the source displayed in the notification message is Live Chat. You can change the source name in the notifications messages.
To change the company name
- Open the Self Service Portal Configuration tool.
- Select the Application Portal - Interface (Company) entry and click Modify.
Specify the company name in the <
application_properties>
tag, as follows:<application_properties_CompanyName></application_properties_CompanyName>
Note
If the company name contains spaces, replace each space with an underscore character. For example, the application properties tag for Acme Corp is
<application_properties_Acme_Corp></application_properties_Acme_Corp>
.- Set the appropriate values for the entire section.
The values in this section are the same values found in the<application_properties>
section. - Save the changes.
To change the application name used in browser notifications for agents
On the IT Home Page, select Virtual Agent > Virtual Chat Administration Console.
Select Self Service Portal > Configuration.
- From the list of entries, select Interfaces - Core Chat Services.
In the Configuration section, set the application name in the
<appName>

Click Save.
To apply the changes, click Refresh servlets.
Agents can see the application name in the browser notifications for incoming chats or messages.
