Monitor types and attributes

An application class is a logical grouping of individual applications, while an application group is a logical grouping of application instances. Similar attributes are added to application classes and similar application classes are grouped under monitor types. On this page, we provide you information about the monitor types present in the knowledge module (KM). You can use this information to proactively resolve the issues before they occur.

Attributes in Central Monitoring Administration are known as parameters in the PATROL consoles.

You can access Central Monitoring Administration from the TrueSight console or ProactiveNet.

Top-level containers and configuration

Configures PATROL for Apache Kafka.

Cluster

It is discovered based on the Kafka environment configurations that the administrator adds to the infrastructure or monitor policy. It contains entities like brokers (also called as servers) and topics.

Topic

It represents individual Kafka topic instance with related metrics.

Brokers

It represents broker instance with the related metrics.

Consumer group

It represents a consumer group instance with the related metrics.
