Managing accounts and users

 

Use the TrueSight Account Manager to manage the TrueSight services to which you have subscribed.

Refer to the following sections to view details required to work with the TrueSight Account Manager.

Go to https://truesight.bmc.com to view the services to which you have subscribed.

If you are already signed in, use the following options to launch the TrueSight Account Manager:

  • For TrueSight Intelligence, select Account from the user menu on the top right of the screen.
  • For TrueSight Pulse:
    • Select Account from the user menu on the top right of the screen.
    • Click the BMC logo on the top left of the screen and select an option that opens the Settings dialog, and then click Account.

Frequently performed actions

Perform the following actions using the TrueSight Account Manager:

Launch your TrueSight Product
  1. Click My Products to view the list of products added to your account
  2. Click the link on the right to launch the product

Set user roles at the TrueSight account level*

  1. Click My Account > Account Users
  2. Modify the Roles for individual users

Add a TrueSight product to your account*

  1. Click My Account > Account Products
  2. Click addto add a product to your account
Generate an authentication token for your TrueSight product*
  1. Click My Account > Product Security
    1. Click addto generate an authentication token for a user or admin role OR
    2. Click delete to stop using the selected authentication token
Invite users to use a TrueSight product*
  1. Click My Account > Product Users
  2. Type an email address, and click inviteto send email invitations to the selected product
Set the timezone to be used for your TrueSight product(s)
  1. Click the user icon from the upper-right of the screen and click User Details
  2. Use the Time Zone drop-down list to set the time zone

* Access restricted to Admin users

TrueSight Account Manager user interface

You can manage the following BMC product service subscriptions:

  • TrueSight Intelligence
  • TrueSight Pulse

View the name for your account and the country. You can also set the current account as a favorite.

View details of the users added to the TrueSight Account Manager and perform maintenance actions such as invite, uninvite, activate, deactivate, and changing the role of the user.

Use this screen to provide users access to the TrueSight Account Manager. Use the ProductUsers">product users list to provide users access to a specific product.

Column Description

Last Name

Last name (user-specified).

First Name

First name (user-specified).
Email Email address of the user to which the invite was sent. The same email address for logging in to the TrueSight product.

Last Access

The time at which the corresponding user account was used to access the TrueSight Account Manager.

Roles

The role assigned to the corresponding user. For example, user and admin.
Status State of the user account. For example, active, or invited.

Open a product, view product security, and product users.

Click addto add the corresponding product to your account.

View security details for the product.

Column Description
Product  Name of the product.
Roles The user roles available for the product.
API Token The API token for the product. This key is required for validating data sent to the product.
Actions Click or to create additional tokens or remove tokens.

Note

The Permanent API key is used to ensure authorized meters/agents and REST APIs send data to your account. Share the API key with authorized individuals only.

View details of the users added to the selected TrueSight product and perform maintenance actions such as, invite, uninvite, activate and deactivate.

Use this screen to provide users access to the selected TrueSight product. Use the AccountUsers">account users list to provide users access to the TrueSight Account Manager.

Column Description

First name (user-specified).
Email Email address of the user to which the invite was sent.

Last Access

The time at which the corresponding user account was used to access the product.

Roles

The role assigned to the corresponding user. For example, user and admin.
Status State of the user account. For example, active, or invited.
Action Invite, activate, deactivate, or uninvite invited users.

To invite users

Type an email address and click invitefrom the action column to send an invitation to the user. An invited user must use the same email address to log in to TrueSight product.
