Types of deployment packages

As an administrator or an application business analyst, you can create and customize a codeless application.

After you create a codeless application, you can create an Install package for fresh installations of the application and an Update package to apply incremental updates to an existing application. Additionally, when you customize an application, you can create a content package to deploy your updates and data from one environment to the other.

The following table provides information about the different types of packages that you can create:

Type of package

Description

Install package

  • Deploys entire codeless application to test or production environments.
  • Includes all the application data such as JAR files, definitions, and configurations

Update package

  • Deploys incremental changes of codeless application
For example, bug fixes or new features.
  • Includes only the changed items.
    Importing configuration data is optional.

Content package

  • Deploys tailoring changes of codeless applications.
  • Includes the tailored definitions and configuration data from primary and dependent applications or libraries.
