Performing step-by-step operations by using a Wizard component


BMC Helix Innovation Studio includes a Wizard component, which is available in the Shared Components section of the View designer. The Wizard component is visible only if you deploy the Shared Components bundle. 

Use the Wizard component when you want to perform a certain operation or task in multiple steps.

 

To add the Wizard component to a view definition

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio and navigate to the Workspace tab.
  2. Select the application for which you want to add a record editor.
  3. On the Views tab, click the name of the view definition to which you want to add a wizard.
  4. From Palette, drag the Wizard component.
  5. In the Properties pane, click Settings Settings icon.png, and then specify the properties as indicated in the following table:

    Step configurationStep configuration serves as a container for individual step entries. You can add multiple steps by clicking the +Add button.

    Label

    Enter a name that you want to display on the step.

    DisabledUse the toggle key to enable or disable the step. If you disable it, the step won't appear in the wizard.

    Current Step

    Define the step where you want to start the wizard.

    For example, consider a wizard with five steps. You can use the Current Step property and make step 2 of the wizard as the starting step.

     

  6. Click Save.

 

Result

The result displays a wizard, where you enter information for Schedule details, and after saving the details, you are navigated to the next tab, Asset details:
