Verifying the installation

Verifying successful installation of BMC HR Case Management in a simple deployment involves the following checks:

  • The BMC HR Case Management web console is accessible, and the Case Master user can log in to BMC HR Case Management.
  • The BMC Smart Reporting web console is accessible, and onboarded BMC HR Case Management users with case_user permissions have access to the reports for HR Case Management data.
  • BMC MyIT has been properly installed and configured for integration with BMC HR Case Management.

The basic procedure describes at a high level how to verify the successful installation and configuration of BMC HR Case Management.

To verify successful installation and configuration of simple deployment

  1. Log in to the BMC HR Case Management web console as Case Master user (the user you created during the installation of BMC HR Case Management). For login details, see Installation worksheets.
    The BMC HR Case Management web console is accessible.
  2. Navigate to Actions Reporting console.
    The BMC Remedy Smart Reporting console is accessible, and you can view BMC HR Case Management reports. For details, see Configuring integration with BMC Remedy Smart Reporting.
  3. Log in into the BMC MyIT Universal Client as the Case Master user.
    For details, see Deploying BMC MyIT to your users  in the MyIT documentation.
    The user successfully logs in to the BMC MyIT Universal Client.
  4. Create a request to BMC HR Case Management with the out-of-the-box solution by using the BMC MyIT Catalog or the Superbox.
    The case is created and can be found in BMC HR Case Management, in the Cases console.
