System requirements for the on-premises gateway

Before you deploy the BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations on-premises gateway, ensure that your environment meets the following hardware and software requirements.

Disk space: 

  • /opt/bmc directory with 250 GB disk space (required for the container images, utility, and installation script)
  • /var/lib/docker directory with 100 GB disk space

Operating system (Docker)

  • CentOS 8.x
  • Oracle Linux 8.6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x
Software (Docker)
  • Docker Engine version 20

  • Docker Compose version 1.29
    To install Docker Compose, see Docker Compose. Open link
  • Permissions to access BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations within their tenant

Operating system (Podman)
  • CentOS 8.6 or later 8.x versions 
  • Oracle Linux 8.6  
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 or later 8.x versions
Software  (Podman)
  • Podman version 4.2 or later

  • Podman Compose version 1.0.4
    To install Podman Compose:
    1. Run the following command to install Podman plugins: dnf install java unzip wget bind-utils go podman-plugins.x86_64  
    2. Install Podman Compose:
      1. pip3 install --user python-dotenv
      2. pip3 install --user https://github.com/containers/podman-compose/archive/devel.tar.gz

Port

  • BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations gateway must be able to reach the third-party connector port (data source-specific connector port).
  • BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations gateway must be able to send data to BMC Helix applications on port 443.
  • To access the BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations UI:
    • Port 80 (when using HTTP and Docker containers)
    • Port 443 (when using HTTPS and Docker containers)
    • Port 7457 (when using Podman containers)
