Configuring the Auto Analyzer task

The Auto Analyzer task performs standard analyses for each application, business driver and system imported into the BMC Helix Capacity Optimization Data Warehouse.

Editing run configuration of an auto analyzer task

  1. Select Administration > ETL & SYSTEM TASKS > System tasks.
    The System tasks page lists all the system tasks that have been added.
  2. In the System tasks table, in the Name column, click the appropriate Auto Analyzer task.
    The selected Auto Analyzer details page is displayed.

    Tip

    Click in the Type column, type Auto Analyzer in the Type field and then click to display all Auto Analyzer tasks.
  3. In the Run configurations table, from the Name column, select the configuration you want to edit and click .
    The Edit run configuration<name> page opens.
  4. Edit the properties in each tab as described below:

    Note

    Properties marked with a '(blue star)' are available only in the Advanced mode. To access the Advanced mode, click the Advanced button at the bottom-right of the Edit run configuration<name> page.


    General configuration tab
    In addition to general settings such as name and environment, you can edit the following properties:

    Description

    NameType the name of the run configuration.
    EnvironmentSelect whether you want to execute the task in a Production or Test environment.
    DescriptionType a description of the task.
    Generated ObjectsSelect whether this task will execute Auto analyses or Golden analyses / models.
    ParallelismType the number of tasks that can be executed simultaneously.
    (blue star) Domains listSelect the domain that should be processed by the the task. You can select multiple domains using the Ctrl key.
    (blue star) Generate domain-level system/business driver overview

    Select whether you want to to generate an automatic system overview or business driver overview chart. If you select Yes, the overview is displayed as a tab in the domain page that shows charts for the last 30 days of a set of preselected key performance indicators (KPIs). 

    By default, this option is set to No, as automatic generation of charts for all domains can be a computationally expensive operation, especially in large environments.

    (blue star) Scheduling options tab

    Set advanced schedule configuration options. This tab is available only in the Advanced mode.

    Hour mask

    Select the time of the day when the task is scheduled to run.

    Day of week mask

    Select the day of the week on which to schedule the task.

    Day of month mask

    Select the day of the month on which to schedule the task.

    Apply mask validation

    Select if you want to mask the validation, or not.

    Execute after time

    Specify the time period after which to execute the task.

    Enqueueable

    Select if you want to enqueue the task, if other tasks are being executed at the same time.

    Customized execution date tab
    Customize the execution interval by setting the following parameters:
    Start dateSelect the first day on which to execute this task.
    Number of days between executions (step)Specify the frequency of execution, in days, after the start date.
    Stop dateSelect the day on which this task will end.
  5. Click Save.
