Deprecated and discontinued features

BMC Helix Continuous Optimization includes changes to the level of support for the following features.

Features discontinued in 22.1.01

Discontinued platform support for Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control version 12.1.x 

Support for the following versions of OEM Cloud Control is discontinued in this release:

12.1.0.1, 12.1.0.3, 12.1.0.4, 12.1.0.5

Discontinued support for outlier markers

Support for outlier markers in analysis charts is discontinued in version 22.1.

Features discontinued in 21.3.02

Discontinued support for BMC - TrueSight Operations Management 9.0/9.5/9.6/10.0 and Generic - Custom structure format CSV parser ETLs

Support for the following ETLs is discontinued in this release:

• BMC - TrueSight Operations Management 9.0/9.5/9.6/10.0 extractor

• BMC - TrueSight Operations Management 9.0/9.5/9.6/10.0 Generic view extractor

• Generic - Custom structure format CSV parser
  
  

Features discontinued in 21.02

Support for the following features is discontinued in this release:

Discontinued support for Virtual Planner

Virtual Planner is discontinued in version 21.02. 

Discontinued support for IT Data Analytics extractor

BMC - TrueSight IT Data Analytics (ITDA) extractor is discontinued in version 21.02.

Discontinued support for Chargeback

Chargeback is discontinued in version 21.02. BMC recommends that you use BMC Helix Cloud Cost instead, which offers more flexible ways to achieve Showback and Chargeback reporting. For details, see  BMC Helix Cloud Cost .

Discontinued support for Windows Gateway Server

The Windows version of Gateway Server is discontinued in version 21.02. BMC recommends that you use the Linux Gateway Server version. 

Analyze and Predict user interfaces, with workload characterization, continue to exist in the product. You can install these components from the Downloads page. 

Discontinued support for Custom Statistics UI

Support for Custom Statistics UI is discontinued in version 21.02. The Custom Statistics UI will no longer be available to display and analyze the custom statistics. BMC Helix Continuous Optimization now supports statistics and percentile for all metrics, so you do not need to create custom statistics. Discontinued support for Software Update and Queue Waiter system tasks

Software Update and Queue Waiter system tasks are discontinued in version 21.02.

Discontinued support for the HP-UX capacity view

Support for the HP-UX capacity view is discontinued in version 21.02.

Discontinued support for Day class and Hour class in Calendar

Support for classifying date and time for data analysis by specifying day class and hour class is discontinued in version 21.02. 

Discontinued support for the Data Mover ETL task

Support for the Data Mover ETL task is discontinued in version 21.02.

Discontinued support for Show historical relations in Workspace

Support for the Show historical relations option is discontinued in version 21.02. The Hierarchy tab will no longer display an additional details about the hierarchy of the selected domain, such as the date on which the hierarchy was defined, date to which the hierarchy is active and hierarchy relation of the selected domain with the parent or child domain. 

Discontinued support for Advanced reports

Support for the Advanced reports is discontinued in version 21.02. You can continue to create basic reports (now called, Reports) based on existing models and analyses.

Discontinued support for Moviri ETLs

Support for the following Moviri ETLs is discontinued in version 21.02:

• Moviri Integrator for BMC Helix Capacity Optimization - HP BSM 
  
• Moviri Integrator for BMC Helix Capacity Optimization - HP uCMDB
  
• Moviri Integrator for BMC Helix Capacity Optimization - HP SiteScope
  

Discontinued platform support for Remote ETL Engine and Gateway Server

Support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP4 for Remote ETL Engine and Gateway Server is discontinued in this release. For a list of the supported OS versions per component, see Planning.

Features deprecated in 21.02

Support for the following features is deprecated in this release:

Deprecated support for VMware - vCloud Infrastructure and Services ETLs

VMware - vCloud Infrastructure extractor and VMware - vCloud Services extractor is deprecated in version 21.02. It continues to exist in the product and will be supported for the entire lifecycle of 21.02. Future versions might not contain these ETLs.

Deprecated support for BMC - TrueSight Operations Management  9.0/9.5/9.6/10.0 ETLs

BMC - TrueSight Operations Management 9.0/9.5/9.6/10.0 extractor and BMC - TrueSight Operations Management 9.0/9.5/9.6/10.0 Generic view extractor is deprecated in version 21.02. It continues to exist in the product and will be supported for the entire lifecycle of 21.02. Future versions might not contain these ETLs.

Deprecated support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 11

Starting with the 21.02 release, support for Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 is deprecated. We encourage you to switch to other fully supported browsers listed for BMC Helix Continuous Optimization in the Supported browsers topic.
