Renderer options in custom views

When you configure a table column in a custom view using the Summary table or the System details template, you can select a renderer to choose how you want the configured value of the column to be displayed in the output view page.

The following table lists the different renderers that are available.

RendererDescription Parameters
to configure
Advanced filter

Enables you to set the column of a table to filter the values in another table when multiple tables are configured in the same view.

The values in the column name drop down list are displayed according to the selected data mart.

Set column <column name drop down list> as <label> filter for the page
Alert

Displays an alert status for the column according to the input value. The following alert icons are displayed:

: Indicates that the value is below good and warning thresholds

: Indicates that the value is between good and warning thresholds.

: Indicates that the value is above all the thresholds.

Specify the threshold values. You can select from the available threshold values in the list, or directly type a value. If you select the Show also value check box, the numerical value is also displayed, along with the icons.

  • Good threshold
  • Warn threshold
  • Show also value check box
Bar

Displays values for the column in the form of horizontal bars.

Specify the threshold values. You can select from the available threshold values in the list, or directly type a value.

The colors of the bars indicate whether the values are below, between or above the specified thresholds:

  • Green: Indicates that the value is below good and warning thresholds.
  • Yellow: Indicates that the value is between good and warning thresholds.
  • Red: Indicates that the value is above all the thresholds.
  • Blue: Indicates that no thresholds are specified.
  • Good threshold
  • Warn threshold
  • Max value
Custom mapping

Displays the column value in colored text based on the defined mapping between the text and a color.

Click + Add mapping.

In the Mapping<#> field, type the values of the column that you want to map to a color. You can type multiple words, separated by commas (,).

In the Map to field, type the text to display.

For example, you can configure the the text to be green if it matches any word in a list of predefined words, like Good, Ok, Valid, Running and so on.

You can define an undefined number of mappings, by specifying a color using the color picker and a list of comma-separated words that will trigger the corresponding color.

  • Mapping<#>
  • Map to
  • Color
  • Match case check box
DateDisplays a value for a column in the date form. Select the required Date/Time format from the list.Date/Time format
Link

Enables you to link a column in a view page (source) to another view page (target). The target view page can be in the same view or a different view.

This renderer also supports linking using page parameters. Every custom view template supports some parameters that you can use to display data for a specific entity in the target view page.

For example, you want a custom view that shows a table with all the virtual machines in your infrastructure and the view page should have a provision to link to the details of each VM.

To do so, you need to configure a custom view page (VM Overview) to show a table with a list of VMs and a custom view page (VM Details) to show the VM details. The VM Details page is created using the System details template, which supports sysid as the page parameter.

  1. In the data mart that is used for the VM Overview page, select System Identifier as the Meaning of the sysid column.
  2. In the custom view configuration, set the renderer for the VM Name column to Link and select the target view page as VM Details.

When you click on a VM Name link in the VM Overview page, the page parameter sysid is used to identify the VM whose name is clicked and the VM Details page with the corresponding VM's information is displayed in the VM Details page.

Note that the parameter is added as a suffix to the target view page URL.

Multibar

Displays values for a column in multiple bars. To display multiple bars, you must first add bars using the + Add bar button and configure each bar.

Specify the threshold values for each bar. You can select from the available threshold values in the list, or directly type a value.

Additionally, you can type a custom label for each bar.

You can also choose to display the values as integers by selecting the Show integer values check box.

  • Good threshold
  • Warn threshold
  • Max value
  • Custom label
  • Show integer values check box
Number

Displays value for a column in numerical form.

Select the unit of measurement from the Measurement unit list. The units available are based on the metric selected, that is if you select a size-specific metric, size-related units like GB,TB and so on are available for selection.

Specify the threshold values. You can select from the available threshold values in the list, or directly type a value.

You can also choose to display the values as integers by selecting the Show integer values check box.

  • Good threshold
  • Warn threshold
  • Measurement unit
  • Show integer values check box
TextDisplays the value as text.NA
Trend

Displays a value and an icon that denotes whether the trend is growing, shrinking, or stable. The stability range is fixed between +5 to -5 percentage. If the value is not a percentage, you can specify a Max value to use to scale that value.

The following trends are supported:

Positive: The input value is above 5 percent (of the specified max value), and is denoted by a icon

Negative: The input value is below 5 percent (of the specified max value), and is denoted by a icon.

Stable: The input value is between 5 and -5 percent (of the specified max value). No icon is displayed, as the trend is stable.
