Used Ports Forecast page in the Network view
Used Ports Forecast
The Used Ports Forecast page forecasts of the number of used ports versus the total number of ports available in a network device.
The Used Ports Forecast portlet presents the following information.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Device name | Name of the device |
Device role | Role of the device, according to the assigned tags |
Device type | The type of the CO entity |
HW Vendor | Vendor of the device |
HW Model | Model of the device |
Location | Location of the device |
Total Number of Ports | Number of the device ports |
Currently Used Ports | Number of the currently used ports |
Trend | Average port growth in terms of used ports / day computed over last 30 days |
Days to Crash | Number of days to port saturation (i.e. used = total), based on estimated trend |
The following rules apply to the Days to Crash indicator value:
- If the device is already saturated (i.e. used = total), then "Saturated" is presented
- If the days to crash are greater than 90, "Not Saturated" is presented
- No value is presented in case of absence of any trend
To view details for a specific Device
To view the details page for a particular vSphere cluster, click its (hyper-linked) name under the Device column. You can use the sorting and filtering options on the page to find a specific device.

The Device details page displays information for the selected device under the following sections or panels:
Summary page | A quick graphical summary of the CPU, memory, and backplane memory utilization of the device. Core metrics for the selected entity are displayed as analysis charts, depending on available data. |
Configuration Details page | Configuration information about the device. |
