Updating benchmark data
The Update benchmark data option in the Administration > Benchmark Management section enables you to perform an automatic or manual update of the benchmark data, add a user benchmark data file, and validate the benchmark updates.
To perform an automatic update of the benchmark data
If your Application Server is able to access Internet, you can perform an automatic update of the benchmark data.
- Navigate to Administration > Benchmark Management > Update benchmark data.
To download the preliminary hardware table files with the update, select Also download preliminary hardware table files.
Click Update.
The latest available ratings are automatically downloaded from ftp.bmc.com site and the benchmark values are updated in the hardware library.
To perform a manual update of the benchmark data
If your Application Server is not able to access Internet, you can perform a manual update of benchmark data. To perform a manual update of the benchmark data:
Download the .hrw files from ftp://ftp.bmc.com/pub/perform/gfc/hardware/21.05.00/

.- Save the files in the /repository/hrwlib directory of the AS server.
- Remove the version number from the extension of the file. For instance, for the
best1default.hrw2105
change the extension of the file tobest1default.hrw

To add a user benchmark data file
To upload an XML file to add a custom benchmark or custom entries to an already existing one, perform the following task. The upload is processed by the Benchmark Alignment scheduler task.
- Navigate to Administration > Benchmark Management > Update benchmark data.
Click Choose File and select the XML file to upload.
Note
You can upload only the file names that begin with a letter (upper/lowercase) or number, and have maximum 254 characters except '/', '\' or ';'.
- Click Upload to upload the XML file.

To validate the benchmark update
To validate the benchmark update, select Administration > Benchmark Management > Benchmarks. The Population date column lists file dates. If the file date is custom defined, it displays the custom date, otherwise it displays the date when the files were last updated.
