Collecting data

BMC Helix Continuous Optimization provides two ways of collecting data for supporting BMC Helix Continuous Optimization use cases, by using Connectors or ETL modules and by using Continuous Optimization Agents.

Connectors can integrate with various data sources by means of ETL modules, that are based on Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) technology. By leveraging the Gateway Server, operating system data is collected from managed nodes that are running capacity agents.

To collect data for business services, applications, service pools, and deployments, see Collecting data for business services, applications, and service pools. You can also create custom ETLs to extend data collection capabilities of BMC Helix Continuous Optimization. For more information, see Developing custom ETLs
