This task describes how to unmount a filesystem that BMC PATROL detects mounted.

Before you begin

  • You must be root to run this command.
  • To perform this task, you must be in developer mode. If you attempt to unmount a filesystem when in operator mode, BMC PATROL displays the following error message in the system output window.

To unmount a filesystem

On any filesystem, perform the following steps.

  1. Access the FILESYSTEM application menu as described in Accessing KM Commands and InfoBoxes.
  2. Select Maintenance > Unmount > Automatic or Manual.

Automatic

BMC PATROL prompts you for the password for the root account.

BMC PATROL prompts you for the mount location as shown in following figure, which is the path assigned to a filesystem after it has been mounted.

Supply the required information for the type of dismount that you are performing and click Apply.

BMC PATROL unmounts the filesystem from your network and writes the result to the system output window.
