This task describes how to create a process host group.

Before you begin

You must comply with the rules for creating process host groups.

To create a Process Host Group

  1. Double-click the PROCESS application container.
  2. Access the PROCESS_PRESENCE application menu as described in Accessing KM Commands and InfoBoxes.
  3. Select Manage Host Group from the pop-up menu. The Manage Host Group dialog box is displayed.
  4. In the Actions group box, select the Add option and click OK. The Add Host to Watched Hosts dialog box is displayed.
  5. In the Host Name field, type the name of the host on which the BMC PATROL Agent is installed and running.
  6. In the Agent Port field, type the port number of the BMC PATROL Agent that is installed on the host.
  7. In the User Name field, type the user name for the BMC PATROL Agent account that is installed on the host.
  8. In the Password field, type the password for the BMC PATROL Agent that is installed on the host.
  9. Click Add. The dialog box closes, and the Manage Host Group dialog box is displayed. The new host is listed in the Host Group Members group box.
  10. Click Close to close the Manage Host Group dialog box.

  1. Can this be done without the Patrol Conole/Patrol Central? I do not have these interfaces and would like to know if I will be able to do this using the TrueSight Presentation Server

      This functionality is supported in PATROL Console only.

        Is there any way of monitoring processes on Linux servers set up in an HA pair using TrueSight policies?

          The Host group monitoring using from TrueSight console policies is not supported. 

          Can you please provide more information about type of monitoring you are looking for?
