    The PATROL for UNIX and Linux 9.13.20.02 patch corrects issues reported in earlier versions of PATROL for UNIX and Linux. This topic contains information about fixes in this patch and provides instructions for downloading and installing the patch.

    To download the installation files

    The following table provides links to the EPD website page that contains the installation files for this product. On the EPD page, you can download the installation files for your platform. You need your BMC Support credentials to access to the EPD website. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.

    Installing the patch 

    Note

    Before you begin

    You must install the patch on the following computers:

    • Hosts that are running the PATROL Agent
    • Hosts that are running the PATROL Console

    Before you install the patch, complete the following steps:

    1. Stop the PATROL Agent.
    2. Back up the PATROL_CACHE directory.
    3. Delete all PATROL for UNIX and Linux files from the PATROL_CACHE directory.
    4. Back up the PATROL_HOME/lib/knowledge and PATROL_HOME/lib/psl directories.

    To install the BMC PATROL for UNIX and Linux 9.13.20.02 patch


    After you have downloaded the installation utility and patch files, perform the following steps to install the patch:

    1. Extract the installation utility.

    2. Enter tar -xvf ins_ALL_10700.tar. The contents of the files are extracted into the bmc_products subdirectory.

    3. Extract the patch file. Enter tar -xvf puk_ALL_9132002.tar. The contents of the files are extracted into the bmc_products subdirectory. 
    4. From the bmc_products directory, run the installation utility. Run setup.sh

    5. Follow the on-screen instructions until the Select Products and Components to Install page is displayed. 

    6. On the Select Products and Components to Install page, select PATROL Knowledge Module for UNIX and Linux - Patch 9.13.20.02.

      Note

      Select the Perform data collector option only if you are installing the patch on a Solaris platform. 

    7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

      After you complete the installation steps, you can delete the temporary directory and its contents.
