pw configwsroles

The command pw configwsroles enables you to set a BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server as a Central Server Router or a Child Server for the web services. It also allows you to configure the servers for cloud deployment.

To set a BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server as a Central Server Router or a Child Server for the web services

  1. From the command line, enter the following command:pw configwsroles


    The following message is displayed:

    Do you want to configure this BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server to deploy cloud (Y/N)?
  2. If you want to configure the server for cloud deployment, type Y, and press Enter. If you do not want to configure the server for cloud deployment, type N, and press Enter.

    The following message is displayed:

    Do you want to configure this BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server as router server (Y/N)?
  3. If you want to set the server as a Central Server Router, perform the following steps:

    1. Type Y, and press Enter.

      The following message is displayed:

      Enter connection protocol [http/https]:
    2. Type the appropriate connection protocol you want to set, and press Enter.

      The following message is displayed:

      Following properties set successfully to bppmws.properties file.
      isRouter = true
      selfHostBPPMAPIPort = 
      bppmwsGatewayProtocol = 
  4. If you want to set the server as a Child Server, perform the following steps:
    1. Type N, and press Enter.
      The following message is displayed:

      Do you want to communicate with router server (Y/N)?
    2. If you do not want to configure the router settings, type N, and press Enter.
      The following message is displayed:

      Following properties set successfully to bppmws.properties file.
      isRouter = false


      The server is set as a Child Server, but the connection to the Central Server Router is not configured.

    3. If you want to configure the router settings, type Y, and press Enter.
      The following message is displayed:

      Enter router gateway host name:
    4. Type the host name of the Central Server Router, and press Enter.
      The following message is displayed:

      Enter the connection protocol used by router gateway [http/https]:
    5. Type the appropriate connection protocol that you want to set, and press Enter.
      The following message is displayed:

      Enter the port used by router gateway. Default will be used if empty:

      Note

      The default port number is 80 if you use the HTTP protocol and 443 if you use the HTTPS protocol.

    6. Type the port number to be used by the router gateway for communication, and press Enter.
      The following message is displayed:

      Enter connection protocol [http/https]:
    7. Type the appropriate connection protocol that you want to set, and press Enter.
      The following message is displayed:

      Following properties set successfully to bppmws.properties file. 
      isRouter = false
      routerGatewayHostName = 
      routerGatewayProtocol = 
      routerGatewayHostBPPMAPIPort = 
      bppmwsGatewayProtocol = 
      selfHostBPPMAPIPort = 


      The server is set as a Child Server, and the connection to the Central Server Router is configured.

      Note

      BMC recommends that you restart the server after configuring it for the changes to take effect.
