Specifying a host name or virtual IP for an Analyzer or a Collector

To perform this procedure, you must have Operator-level access, or higher.

  1. In the Real User Analyzer component, point to Administration > Integration, and then click Network identity.
  2. On the Action menu for the Hostname/Virtual IP section, click Edit.
  3. In the Hostname/Virtual IP box, enter a name or a virtual IP address (in a dot-decimal format) for the device to use when it generates links back to itself, for example, in mailouts.
  4. Click Save.

The device uses this name when it sends information about itself to recipients. If you do not specify a host name or virtual IP address for the device, it uses the physical IP address of the host.

Note

Ensure that host names do not contain underscore (_) characters, because the system refers to such host names as IP addresses.
