Getting current traffic values from a filter reference list

The system populates values for several traffic attributes as it processes new data. Reference lists contain the most popular or recently observed values for a given attribute of traffic in the system.

When you create a traffic filter, refer to this page to see the available values for each field. For example, by clicking on the Client IP field, you can see a list of client IPs that accessed your application; by clicking on the Geo country field, you can see the list of countries, from which your application was accessed.

Count lists

Many reference lists contain the most popular values for a given attribute and show the number of times that the system observed each value in the list. You can usually sort these lists by key or by count, in ascending or descending order.

Note

Some reference lists can display values by count or by time. View links for these lists can be found at the top of the page. Also note that according to their particular functions, Analyzer and Collector components display different reference lists.

Accessing a reference can involve performing the following actions:

  • Clicking on the reference list that you want to see
  • (Optional) Sorting values in the list to see the data that interests you
  • (Optional) Clearing the reference list

For example, you want to see a list of the most frequently observed page names, for which the system has stored data. After you have seen the list, you can clear the values in it.

To access a reference list

  1. In the Real User Analyzer or Collector interface, click Reference lists.
  2. Find and click the link for the Page name reference list.

The system shows a list of the top 200 most frequently observed page names that it has observed, sorted by the frequency of the page name in the system.

To clear values from a reference list

  1. In the Real User Analyzer or Collector interface, click Reference lists.
  2. Find and click the link for the reference list from which you want to clear values.
  3. From the Action menu, select Clear list.

To clear values from all reference lists

  1. In the Real User Analyzer or Collector interface, click Reference lists.
  2. From the Action menu, select Clear all lists.
