Extraction rules specify how to select and obtain data for populating your custom field from the identified source. Each field can have up to 20 extraction rules. If you have multiple applications that behave differently and your source for a particular field (for example, User ID) is different for each application, then you can use multiple extraction rules for that field.
An extraction rule consists of the following components:
- Traffic selection
- Data source
- (Optional) Transformations
