Guidelines

Announcement Support for this product will end on November 3, 2025. We recommend that you use PATROL for Linux, PATROL for AIX, or PATROL for Solaris to monitor operating systems.

Viewing the Memory Used by Processes

  1. Access the MEMORY application class to view its parameters.
  2. Open the MEMUsedProcess parameter.
This parameter reports the sum of real memory used by all applications and indicates the amount of real memory consumed by processes running on the system.

    Note

The MEMUsedProcess parameter is not available on the AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, and Linux platforms in the PSL collection mode.

BMC PATROL displays a graph that shows the real memory used by all the processes running on the system over time.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
