Debugging the DCM application

To turn on debug for the DCM application,

  1. Access the UNIX OS application KM menu commands as described in Accessing-KM-Commands-and-InfoBoxes.
  2. Choose Debug and Diagnostics > DCM Debug Admin.

PATROL displays the DCM Debug Admin dialog box with the following debug choices:

    Option

    Description

    Debug for THIS Dialog Box

Displays debug messages about the DCM Debug Admin dialog box

Debug for all DCM functions (Internal to PATROL)

Displays debug messages about the <appclass>Ctrl parameters in the DCM application class

DCM Binary Debug (External to PATROL)

Displays debug messages about the DCM binary program that collects data

  3. Click the toggle buttons for the debug options you want. If you choose DCM Binary Debug, you can specify the output file name in the Output File field. If you do not specify a file, the default file is /tmp/DCM_debug.
  4. Click Accept

The dialog closes. The debug information appears in the PATROL Console window and/or the output file specified for DCM Binary Debug.

To turn off a debug option, repeat steps 1-3. In step 2, deselect the toggle buttons for the debug options that you want to turn off.
