Before installing the Infrastructure Management Server components, ensure that you have completed steps 1 and 2 in the Installation and system configuration process overview.
Important
This installer first installs the Infrastructure Management Server 10.0 and then applies the Infrastructure Management Update 10.0.500 to make it compatible with the latest version of the TrueSight Presentation Server.
The BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server installation installs the following components:
- BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server
- Infrastructure Management Self-Monitoring Service (also known as the local agent)
- Operator console
- Administration console
- (Optional) SAP SQL Anywhere as database
Note
You can use either SAP SQL Anywhere or Oracle as the database.
Warnings
- Due to conflicts with the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server and the drain on the resources of the Infrastructure Management Self-Monitoring Service, BMC Software does not recommend enabling the Integration Service on the same computer where the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server is installed.
- BMC does not recommend using the Infrastructure Management Self-Monitoring Service for monitoring anything other than the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server.
- Before you configure BMC Atrium CMDB, ensure that BMC CMDB Extensions and modules are installed on the computer where the BMC Atrium CMDB is installed. If necessary, you can stop this installation, install the extensions, and then restart the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server installation.
