Monitoring an Exchange user

Use this task to begin monitoring the mail usage for a specific Exchange user.

Warning

BMC Software recommends you monitor no more than 50 users per PATROL Agent. 

  1. Access the Watched Users application class menu as described in Accessing-KM-Menu-Commands.
  2. Select the PATROL Admin > Add User to Watch List menu command to display the Add-Users-to-the-Watch-List-dialog-box.
  3. Select the user and click Accept.

    During the next discovery cycle, which by default is every 2 minutes, PATROL creates an     instanceNamesOfWatchedUserInstances application class instance for the user you selected. 

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
