    Hardware requirements

    The following table lists the minimum hardware requirements:

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 x86-64
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 x86-64
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 x86-64

    The preceding operating systems are applicable for both the product, the target hosts (where data resides), and for the standalone Collection Agent that you might install on the target hosts.

    CPU and memory

    2 cores and 4 GB RAM  

    Note: In a production environment, the minimum requirement would be 8 cores and 16 GB RAM for handling a 50-GB to 100-GB volume of data and upto four users.
    Disk space
    • For installing the IT Data Analytics product:
      • 50 GB including operating system (for installing the product)
      • 225 GB (for installing the product + indexing 20 GB data per day with a default retention period of 7 days)
      Note:The disk space might vary depending on the size of your environment and the size of your log files.

      For example, to index 20 GB of data per day with a default retention period of 7 days, you require 20 * 7 * 1.25 + 50 = 225 GB disk space. For more information, see Variables that affect sizing and scalability.

    • For installing the standalone Collection Agent: 145 MB
