Setting up the Extended Reporting installation environment
The implementation of BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring Extended Reporting requires the installation of the following hardware and software. You will configure the Aggregation Server for Extended Reporting to work with these systems after you install it.
Set up a network-attached storage (NAS) device
The Aggregation Server for Extended Reporting uses a NAS device to temporarily make the .csv file accessible by both the Aggregation Server and the data warehouse. After the file is loaded into the data warehouse, it is removed from the NAS device. The NAS device must support the Server Message Block/Common Internet File System (SMB/CIFS) file sharing protocol.
Install an Oracle Database Management System
Install Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Database Client according to the Oracle Database Installation Guide and Oracle Database Client Installation Guide. For system requirements specific to the Extended Reporting component, see Database system requirements for Extended Reporting.
Use root to install the Oracle DBMS. Additionally, the system on which you install must be configured as follows:
- Use the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) timezone for the system on which you host the DBMS.
- Synchronize with a time server through the network time protocol (NTP).
Install an SAP BusinessObjects Central Management Server and client
If you do not already have the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform installed in your environment, install the version provided by BMC, including the Central Management Console (CMC) and BI launch pad. SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.0 SP4 is included on the BMC Software Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) page for the BMC Analytics for BSM product. If you already have the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform installed in your environment, you must have adequate licensing for both your SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform environment and the BMC Analytics for BSM content. Install SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0 according to the SAP documentation, including the Central Management Console (CMC) and BI launch pad.
