Besides standard functionality, BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring uses APIs to retrieve performance metrics about end user experience. APIs are powerful tools used to gather data on the server. APIs enable you to configure features independent of the system web interface and to extract data. These capabilities are useful for reporting, configuring, and managing multiple BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring devices from a single location, or using data to feed an external device. 

You access data by using Representational State Transfer (REST) API calls, which deliver CSV files that are parsed to obtain needed values. To use APIs, you must have a valid user ID and password and have API functionality enabled.
