Monitor types and attributes


BMC PATROL for MongoDB has monitor type (application classes ) that is segregated based on the components.

The following table lists the monitor types and its attribute (parameter) available in BMC PATROL for MongoDB. 

The following naming convention is followed for monitor types and attributes:

  • The title of the monitor type topics follows the monitor type (application class) format.
  • The title of the attribute topics follows the attribute (parameter) format.

Collector and text parameters are not displayed in the BMC ProactiveNet Central Monitoring Administration and BMC ProactiveNet Operations consoles.

Availability

Indicates whether the parameter monitors the availability of the resource.

Graph

Indicates whether the attribute value should be plotted on the graph by default when the Show Graph is selected on the BMC ProactiveNet user interface.

Key Performance Indicator

Indicates if the attribute is a Key Performance Indicator (KPI). KPIs are attributes that have the most impact on the health and performance of your environment and your service-level agreements.

Monitor for abnormalities

Indicates whether abnormalities should be detected automatically. This applies to all attributes for which alarm ranges have been defined. If you want an attribute to be monitored for abnormalities, you should define the alarm ranges.

Monitor Type

The monitor type under which this attribute is displayed.

Normal distribution

Indicates whether the attribute has data with extreme spikes which makes developing a normal range band difficult.

Response time

Indicates whether the parameter monitors the response time of an action or operation.

Statistical

Indicates if the value collected by the attribute is numerical and indicates performance data.
