The PATROL for PostgreSQL 1.0.10 service pack provides new features and corrects issues reported in the earlier versions. This topic includes information about new features and instructions for downloading and installing the service pack.

What's new

Using SSL for connection

You can now use SSL to connect to the PostgreSQL database server. For more information, see Configuring PostgreSQL monitoring.

Java path field is not mandatory

The Java path field that is available in the Java Collector Settings section is not mandatory anymore. If this field is blank, the KM looks for the Java installed in the PATROL Agent home directory as:

  • Linux: $PATROL_HOME/../openjdk$PATROL_HOME/../jre64
  • Windows: %PATROL_HOME%/../openjdk%PATROL_HOME%/../jre64

Added new parameters to the PostgreSQL Database (PGR_DB_CONTAINER) class

The following parameters have been added to the PostgreSQL Databases (PGR_DB_CONTAINER):

Support for new versions of PostgreSQL

The KM now supports the PostgreSQL 11.0 and 12.0 database versions. For more information, see System requirements.

Updated JDBC driver

The KM now supports the postgresql-42.2.8 JDBC driver. For more information, see System requirements.

Support for SCRAM-SHA-256

You can now use the SCRAM-SHA-256 encryption to connect to the PostgreSQL database server. For more information, see System requirements.

Downloading the installation files

The following table provides links to the pages in the EPD website that contain the installation files for this product. From the EPD page, you can select and download the installation files for your platform. Access to the EPD website requires that you provide your BMC Support credentials. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.

Installing the service pack

Note

The PATROL for PostgreSQL KM 1.0.10 service pack contains all the files that are required for a complete product release. You can install the service pack over an existing installation of the KM, or as a fresh installation.
